7 months!!!

My baby is 7 months old.  In his honour:

7 hours ago:  I was driving my baby boy home from his Grandma and Grandpa's house.  He was very angry in his big boy car seat.  Right about 7 hours ago, I pulled into one of those pit stop McDonald's off the highway and wiped his nose (crusty. ew.) and fed him some bottle, which he guzzled.  He fell asleep pretty soon after that.  There was a lot of snow at my parents but about an hour away, the roads were totally bare.  Thank God!

7 days ago: Last Saturday I got highlights (back to blonde, thank you very much), a haircut, and had a dinner party with some family/friends (including another baby).  Z fell asleep before anyone got here, which made me kind of happy yet kind of sad because I wanted him to show off his peg-leg crawling:)  Our friends' baby was here and was so quiet the entire night.  I made mac and cheese, but I made it ahead of time.  Next time I would wait until closer to the party because I found it a tiny bit dry:(  BOOOO!!!

7 weeks ago: I was searching desperately for a costume for my boy!! Got the last monkey one.  Z was becoming AWESOME at sitting up on his own, but he still was bonking his own head a whole bunch of times.  He was also becoming better at being taken out in public without having a major freak-out.  Case in point, 7 weeks ago hubby, sister and I took Z to the Royal Ontario Museum for his first ever all day, away from home outing.  He was amazing- he loved looking at all the people, he ate his bottle like a champ, and he had a snooze in his stroller while we were wandering.  It was the first time that I realized that Z was becoming a serious big boy!!!!

7 months ago:  I was having my beautiful baby boy.  It was one of the hardest experiences of my life- by this time I was in so much pain, so exhausted, and wondering how in the world I would be able to take care of this screaming baby.  He literally screamed all the time.  Physically,  I refused to let on, but I could barely even walk.  I forced myself out of bed every time he cried, but I could barely move without crying.  The 17 hours of active labour really did a number on me.
That being said, gosh, I can't remember what my life was like without that little screamer.  I was so amazed to see his little face, perfect fingers and toes, and red, red hair!!

7 years ago: I was *almost* engaged.  Hubs and I had been dating for about 3 months (yes, you read that right) and we were super in love.  AWWWW.  Although we had discussed marriage (as in, one day, if we get married) I was totally unaware of the fact that hubs was ring shopping and planning to fly to Saskatchewan (where I was spending Christmas) to suprise me with an engagement ring.  I was 22 years old, with my first full time job, my own (tiny) apartment, and a boyfriend that I was madly in love with.  Life was so good!

So happy birthday baby boy!!! I can't believe you're 7 months old!!!
And FYI, Z stood by himself yesterday.  Without holding ANYTHING!!!! Imagine!!!
